I have to use 2 separate Plex Apps (Nvidia Shield + WebOS25) for Atmos and DTS:X

Hey guys the problem I’m facing is that since I changed my LG soundbar, I now have to use the Nvidia App for TrueHD/Atmos and the WebOS App for DTS:X

The WebOS App will play DolbyPlus/ATMOS and DTS:X tracks but not the TrueHD/Atmos tracks and the Nvidia App will play all ATMOS track but not the DTS:X tracks. It’s very frustrating not being able to play both on just 1 App

My setup is

LG G4 TV

LG US95TR Soundbar

Nvidia Shield Pro 2019

I’ve tried everything I can think of to get it to work (even factory reset every device) but to no avail. Is anyone else having these issues, or better still a solution to it?

In the Plex app on the Shield, ensure passthrough = HDMI.

If possible, connect the Shield to a HDMI input on the sound bar.

The Shield can definitely pass dts, dts-HD MA, and dts:X. Mine does so to my Denon receiver.

The App setting is on HDMI. Strange that TrueHD/Atmos will play. I’ll try the direct HDMI soundbar input and see what happens. :grin:

Having had a proper investigation, it turns out the HDMI port I was using is the problem. I plugged the Shield into a different port and now it’s working fine. Happy dayz :grin:
