I just want to delete/remove a file from Plex

I just want the ability to remove a file from the Plex Library without deleting it from my hard drive… you know like every other media program for the last 30 years.

Plex has to scan which means it has to build a list of some type… can’t y’all just give the option to Hide/Remove an entry without deleting it from the disk/directory? Maybe implement an exception list to be used when Plex rescans that would track file location (or something similar) and verify it against “Hide/Remove/Duplicate/Ignore” requests by the user, etc.

Like most people I have my Music files either set-up for MusicBee, iTunes, etc. because these are the main Library & Playlist managers and the main media Players. Also, I have directories of file types i.e., FLAC, MP3, ALAC, etc. - for segmentation because not all players or devices can handle all file types. But the key point here is I can have each one of those programs use the same directories without having to make unecessary duplicates - because you know that whole virtual/logical thing and the ability of those programs to edit a library file without changing directory structure.

So it seems that, as it stands now, I will have to make a whole new directory structure for Plex and in so doing I’ll have to make duplicates of files and take up even more disk space - not very appealing when you have many hundreds of gigabytes of media.

Take a look at…
