I need help figuring this stuff out

No way to contact Plex For help other than here on the Forum.
I can’t post new topic Have I been denied the right to do so?
I’m not a big fan of Forum anyway, having my stuff read by others doesn’t have any appeal to me. I prefer over the phone 1 on 1 support.

I would like to know how to see or setup a specific hardware to do the transcoding. I have an AMD CPU 3700X and and Nidia Quadro P4000 GPU. I want to take full advantage of this graphic card to do all transcoding task. I don’t know were I can see the hardware working to do the transcoding.

Also I often get a notification on my tv when, I start a movie.[invalid format] with colorful bubble flying around it. Is it due to transcoding not being done or in the process of?

Also earlier today I had issue with connection outside my local network. Network was down for all my friends. Maybe since the last update, no one was able to stream from my server. I fixed it disabling secure connection, its usually preferable to have a secure connection.

Were you getting some error? You need to be in a category to post in the category. I’m sorry we don’t have 1-1 support stream

Info about HW transcoding including how to tell if something is using HW to do so can be found here. Using Hardware-Accelerated Streaming | Plex Support

There was some remote access issues last night that were resolved just about an hour ago so I would ask your friends if they can connect now. If they are using a smart TV this might apply to them however Important information about Plex for smart TVs after September 30, 2021

Would the change on remote access affect the old OpenPHT for windows? It stopped working last night. I don’t see an option to allow for insecure connections in the app. I know it’s not being developed any more, but wondering if there is another workaround on the server side I can use.

Confirmed. This affected OpenPHT. The fix is to set your media server Secured Conenction to Disabled. Then you’ll need to sign out and back in to OpenPHT.

I’m unsure of the security ramifications of the server change.

To fix on Windows:

Download: https://nzbget.net/info/cacert.pem

Use it to replace the file in: C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenPHT\system

This will allow you to still use secured connections.

Cheched=> Strict TLS configuration
“Disables legacy weak ciphers, increases DH group size, and switches to ECDSA certificates when renewing. May prevent older clients from connecting.”

Good, all my connected friend use Roku Ultra, so no problem there for sure.

Secured connection is set to “Required” also work on “Prefered”

My server is configured to work efficiently with WireGuard, for added security and full speed.

As for Hardware acceleration, I still don’t see a graph of my GPU in action. Status/Dashboard only show; Bandwidth, CPU, RAM.

For alert when server is down I don’t believe this feature work properly.
Status/Alert Only showing a log entry no option there to send alert to my Smart Phone trough SMS or email.
