I need help with a library in plex, constantly scanning it

Right but could that cause scanner problem like the author is seeing? I’d guess so but if not then maybe someone else could take a look at the logs.

How many media folders, in total across all shared folders containing media, including sub-folders, do you have ?

FileStation → Right-Click a shared folder name → Properties
– Will count the number of files and folders in that shared folder

Repeat for all shared folders containing media.

Total them all up, round up to the next multiple of 32768 (if you worry about keeping memory perfectly aligned). No matter the number, you need a minimum of 32 extra slots. The transcoder uses 2 for each activity. This gives you the potential for 16 transcoder activies (scan, analyze, transcode, etc)

This technique applies to both DSM 6 and DSM 7.

Don’t forget to restart DSM after setting these values. They are not applied retroactively

Future reference: “[Notify]” and “no space left on device” means the table in the kernel is full (Notify table is a virtual device so the error text can be misleading)

Thanks. I was looking at the text detail of the error (no space left…) and not the stack it came from (notify). Good tip for the future.

the same issues is back, i just increased my watch folder and it is now continuasly scanning my main movie library. its been scanning it for the past 2 days. this is getting very annoying as i have no way to fix it.
