I read something about in plex nine you would be able to add friends and see what they are watching like boxee, is this true or is it just bull?
mhm I didn’t read that, you can add librarys from different plex library on the same network but other than that…
Sadly I am the only one who uses a media center. My friends watch movies file system or stream based.
I dont know where you read it, but as far as I am aware no such core communication is planned. It is however an Open Source communication, so anyone can submit a patch or create plugins to do all kinds of things 
Today the plugins are limited to fetch media from sites in one way or another, but I have a feeling that limit will be broken by someone like yourself who really wants to let your friends know what TVseries you recommend or such.
we’ve had this discussion before and there were a great lot of people who would appreciate to see such a feature in Plex directly, not through plugins.
