I have set the permission so download is permitted. What are we missing so they can download my files on windows?

I have a life time sub, friends I add should get download rights as well? Or do they need Plex Pass as well?

Is he using Plex Desktop? Plex Web is not supported.
Web portal and plex media player does not work.
Is he using the old, discontinued Plex Media Player?
That is not supported.
As noted in the documentation, only the mobile apps and Plex Desktop support downloading for offline play.
If he is using Plex Desktop, what does “does not work” mean? No option to download? Is the download button visible (see screenshot below)? Download fails? etc.
Also, what version of Plex Desktop? Current is 1.66.1.
The download button is just present.
Neither of those are supported apps for downloads.

Both me and my friend I added to my Plex are life time sub. Please just enlighten me what app we need to use on what platforms it can be used on.
