I want Plex to use MY album art

I’ve gone through a great deal of trouble to find quality album art and embed it using MP3 into every single FLAC file. Instead of using my image, Plex insists on getting the crappiest, low resolution it can find on the internet and using that instead.

My server has “Personal Media Albums” as the top item in in Agents. It should not be getting rubbish images from elsewhere. How do I make it STOP doing this???

It is one of the 3 top most annoying things about Plex

  1. Won’t play sequential tracks seamlessly. Some of listen to classical music and album rock. This is infuriating.

  2. Doubling up of tracks. I put in 12 tracks and when Plex scans, I get doubles of a few of them. Like track 1 twice and track 7 twice.

put your high-quality art into the album folder… e.g. as poster.jpg

as for no. 2 you’ll need to check specifically where this comes from or if a “plex dance” can fix it.

Is your music library set to ‘Personal Media Albums’ as its default agent?
‘Edit’ it and look at the ‘Advanced’ tab.
If you want Plex to look at your embedded meta data, you need to have ‘Local Media Assets’ at the top position.
Checking the box ‘Use embedded meta data’ (also on the ‘Advanced’ tab) can’t hurt either.

Make sure that your media folders don’t contain hidden files in very low resolution (usually put there by Windows Media Player). See https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1173370/#Comment_1173370

I recommend you to extract the cover art into a folder.jpg or cover.jpg and put it beside your audio files. You can then use a higher resolution (which would be insane to embed into every file of an album).

Sorry, the only Plex client currently supporting ‘gapless playback’ is Plexamp.
If you are using your computer to listen to music, you should check it out.

More Plex clients may be supporting gapless in the future.

No idea about that. I can only assume that either the embedded meta data in your files are misinterpreted by Plex or their file names and folder organisation.
