I want to use the tags in my music without any outside influence from other services

(Forgive me, I don’t know all the correct terms)
I have spent countless hours tagging my .FLAC music files and want to use this data and only this data in my PMS.
It seem that some (or all) of my tags and attached album cover art is not being read properly.
For example, I have a “Peaceful Christmas” album tagged as the “Georgia Satellites” for the artist. Now, I think we can all safely assume that the Georgia Satellites did not have any involvement with the Peacefull Christmas album. LOL!

I did find (days ago) a setting to not use “outside” data sources (or something like that) and for the life of me, I can not find that setting or how I made that change.

I see in Settings → Agents some things that may alter how this works, but I have no clue as to what some of the terms mean and how to set things as I want them.

Can anybody point me in the right direction to get my metadata to be the ONLY metadata in use for my music?

I don’t know if you can get to absolutely only embedded metadata, but the above should get you as close as is currently possible. Plex should only get online metadata if the local tag is not found.

Keep in mind that Plex only parses a subset of all the possible tags you might have. The list in this post may be a little out-of-date, but it will give you an idea.

Thanks for the quick reply!
That seemed to have solved some of my issues.
I still need to dig through and verify more items.

The one thing that did break, (or not work as I expected) is that the “Poster” and “Background” images are no longer there. I did find where I can go in and manually add them to each artist.
Not ideal, but I am concerned that letting some background process pull data from the interwebs will get me back there where I don’t want to be again.
