A while ago I totally recreated my music library, trying to keep every setting as default as possible to make sure that I can use all the cool stuff like sonic analysis, etc.
For Richard D. James, all his music I have “Richard D. James” as both the album artist and the composer, with the artist set to Apex Twin, AFX, Polygon Window, etc.
I’d like it so that if I search for “Richard D. James,” I see exactly one artist entry, combining every track with “Richard D. James,” of course showing me the artist when possible. Similarly, if I search from one of the Richard D. James aliases that is set as an artist for some tracks, I’d like the same “Richard D. James” to show up.
This applies to several other artists who release music under different “artist” names. I’d like to be able to do things like shuffle through every track by these artists but without having to set up a special playlist.
Instead, what is happening is that if I search for “Richard D. James,” I get a separate entry for each artist.
