I add videos for a weekly motorsports event to my Plex server. I have videos from years past, and each year there are 20-25 weekend ‘events’.
I have each year as a separate ‘TV Show’ folder (Motorsports Uno 2023, Motorsports Uno 2024, Motorsports Uno 2025, etc.)
Each weekend ‘event’ is a different ‘Season’ folder in the motorsports year folder. (Round 01-Down Under Country, Round 02-Red Country, Round 03-Red Dot Island, etc.)
I have a list with episode numbers and names for each video ‘segment’ that occurs during each weekend. Examples include:
ep.110-Driver’s Press Conference (Thursday)
ep.210-Practice 1 (Friday)
ep.220-Team Press Conference (Friday)
ep.365-After-Qualifying Show (Saturday)
ep-410-Pre-Race Show
ep-510-Monday Race Talking Heads
etc.
So the video file for “After-Qualifying Show (Sat)” for Round 03 starts off with s03e365 and is in the ‘Round 03-Red Dot Country’ folder in the 2025 folder.
Plex does add them in the proper ‘folders’ and names the episodes by episode number, so the above example shows up as “Episode 365”.
I would like Plex to look up the special list I made when scanning these folders and ‘name’ them as the list has it. (so Ep 365 shows up as “After-Qualifying Show (Saturday)”
Is there a way to have Plex look up a custom list or table for a ‘custom’ TV show? Is there a config file or something I can edit to have Plex look up a custom table for ‘custom’ episodes I have listed?
