Ideas for Plex server on slow connections

Now that cloud sync is dead and no functionality exists to sync to PMP on web or Linux, are there any other solutions to pre-sync or at least increase buffer for watching content from Plex media server hosted on slow (typical home ISP) connections?

Extremely aggravating to have to pause the film every 10 minutes to be able to watch it without constant buffering.

Thanks!

only if you have download rights but is the server is local then perhaps load the local ip interface https://support.plex.tv/articles/200288666-opening-plex-web-app/

So I connected to my home network over VPN to be able to use player in PMS.
How exactly does that help? I’m still streaming content over slow connection. Still no way to sync, still no way to increase buffer, still constantly buffering.

If anything it actually got slower because I introduced the overhead of VPN.

yes a VPN would slow things down.

what i was suggesting was using a more direct connection if local or downloading the content then playing.

Sync settings are per library to device or per item and is possible i do it. at least with my server on windows not sure about linux.
if you want to improve performance in general that could mean upgrading your internal and external network for a better up and down stream… also opening ports

others can help but would need to know more about your server such as version what hardware does it run on and also the players and clients that have the issue. since my linux plex knowledge is limited i will bowe out and advice to give as much details as possible on your use case and give it time for others to help you.
