I'm experiencing something similar to this previous poster when my screen is turned off during playback

Here is the old topic I found: Android PlexAmp : Lock screen releases headset controls. This poster seems to be having a similar problem to the one I am having.

When I go running, I sometimes take my phone with me to listen to music. PlexAmp is great for taking music with you on the go, but I’m having problems with the controls. My bluetooth headset connects and plays audio fine, but after the screen turns off and my phone is back in my running belt I lose the ability to play/pause audio. I do this through the controls on my headset. When I hit play/pause, it will do it for a split second, then return to whichever state it was in before.

I’ll give an example. I’m running and listening to music, and someone wants to talk to me. I hit the pause button on my headset. The music stops momentarily, then immediately resumes. The only way I can pause it is to take my phone back out, open the app, and press pause there. Skipping tracks still works with the headset controls - it’s only play/pause that are broken.

I’ve also noticed that the media player notification will become “unsynchronized” (for lack of a better term) if the screen is blanked. Android will insist that no media is playing on the lockscreen. The notification will not be updated to the currently playing track - it will still be displaying whatever track and playback information was there when the screen was blanked.

Interesting, would love to see a Plexamp log after such an experience, might lend some good clues. Do you by chance have any aggressive battery saving settings enable for the app? This can definitely cause issues.

@elan I looked at the power settings, and apparently Samsung’s defaults are pretty aggressive. I turned that off and tried it out on my run yesterday and it worked perfectly!
