Ok this is really strange. I have Motorola Edge 30 Ultra with Plex, Plexamp, Tidal and Podverse installed. However, this strange behavior only occurs when using Plex and Plexamp; Tidal and Podverse seem to be unaffected.
Here’s the problem: Whenever I press the power button on my phone, the music I’m playing through Plex or Plexamp pauses for about 2 seconds, and a Bluetooth notification pops up, indicating the codec currently in use. It’s honestly driving me crazy!
To provide a little more context, I’m using Bluetooth headphones, specifically the Beyerdynamics Free Byrd, and they have their own app. I wonder if this might have something to do with the issue.
Has anyone else experienced similar problems, or does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? I’m open to any suggestions that might help resolve this annoying issue.
I have a mid-range Moto phone. But I don’t use BT audio with it. Only an old-fashioned wired headphone.
I’ve never seen the behaviour you’re describing when locking the phone using the power button.
BTW, I made another tests. Using Plex/Plexamp through speakers works without any problems. Using another pair of BT headphones yields the same result as with the BD BYRDS, so it must be something with the phone. However, if this is a phone issue, why does TIDAL work flawlessly?
There are several ways to play audio on Android. Think different API’s.
Plexamp allows you switch to an alternative one in its advanced settings. I’d try that and see if the behavior changes in any way.
