I can see it doesn’t like something with the Intro markers but not sure how to translate what the log shows to the pathname so the offending file can be checked for damage / a sample obtained.
I’ll forward to the engineer. Engineering is offsite this and next week.
Sorry in advance for the delay
Noticed you have some media paths at drive letter root base
It is not recommended to have the drive letter as the base for a a library path
eg
Oct 03, 2023 11:34:30.568 [209080] DEBUG - LibraryUpdateManager will start watching M:\
Oct 03, 2023 11:34:30.568 [209080] DEBUG - LibraryUpdateManager will start watching Z:\
Oct 03, 2023 11:34:30.568 [209080] DEBUG - LibraryUpdateManager will start watching W:\
I would suggest you look into defining library paths as folders
eg
M:\Movies
Z:\TV
etc
I am not saying this is to do with the crashes but is not recommended and there were in the past reports of issues with such a setup
Found an uploaded crash report from the 27th September - not sure if the same as the crashes I asked you to give me the dmp files for - but the 27th sep crash appears to be to do with creating a transcoder temp directory
Could you check permissions for c:\plex\transcode - any symlinks ? is it on the C: Drive
In logs from the 4th I see some errors
Oct 04, 2023 01:58:52.655 [220632] DEBUG - [Req#314c/Transcode] Transcoder: Cleaning old transcode directory: "c:\Plex\Transcode\Sessions\plex-transcode-a59ad7ad-5e49-4fef-a825-961b4a75d951-504-9d2a0749-155a-4bcb-a032-63abacd48dc2"
Oct 04, 2023 01:58:52.655 [220632] ERROR - [Req#314c/Transcode] Transcoder: Failed to delete session directory (boost::filesystem::remove_all: Access is denied [system:5]: "c:\Plex\Transcode\Sessions\plex-transcode-a59ad7ad-5e49-4fef-a825-961b4a75d951-504-9d2a0749-155a-4bcb-a032-63abacd48dc2\chunk-00027")
I do not know if this has a bearing on the crahses
Also I do not know if the lowercaseC is a factor - may be it is
Change the path for the transcode directory to upper case C and let me know if it makes a difference
Hi,
Server Version#: Windows 1.32.6.7557
Player Version#: Android 10.0.0.4149
Today I’ve found again PMS stopped.
Restarted, waited 5 mins, downloaded logs. @sa2000 could you check also my logs? Plex Media Server Logs_2023-10-05_17-10-06.zip (3.8 MB)
Thank you,
I am not experiencing crashes, however, the past 2 versions I am noticing the server disconnects from the roku app (as if the internet turns off) which is does not… This is so frustating.
Plex Media Server Version 1.32.6.7557 Windows 10
Roku Premiere - Plex App 7.8 Build 4
I have been a plex user for well over 6 years and have never experienced this.
Happy to share logs, just let me know what you need and where to find them.
The disconnect lasts from 30 seconds to 2 minutes and then reconnects to the server.
If this is the wrong place i have posted this, apologies let me know where to post.
I’m having the same issue… about a week ago, Plex media server started stopping daily. Have to restart daily. Just started it this morning 10/8. Currently running Version 1.32.6.7557.
Please post debug server logs and I will have a look and let you know which files I need
You could look for the files yourself - on windows they would be in %TEMP% and will have .dmp and .log filename extensions and the filenames will look like the ones I mentioned in this post I'm finding Plex server stopped every day - #29 by sa2000
So run with debug logging enabled (it is on by default)
After a restart following a crash, download the server logs zip and look in `%TEMP%1 for files created round the time of the crash or the restart - send dmp files zipped by Private Message - logs zip you can attach here
Found uploaded crash reports for your server for a crash at 02:01 am on 8th October
It is similar to the crashes i looked at on this forum thread - intro detection during scheduled tasks
Could you have a look at the server settings for the Transcoder - with Show Advanced and copy here the exact text that is in the Transcoder temporary directory field
