I'm finding Plex server stopped every day

Transcoder temporary directory is “e:\Temp”. This is a 1TB SSD with 368GB free currently.

Just sent message with registry file attached.

Still having the issue… starting Plex Media Server daily.

Thank you. I will follow your instructions. I see I am not the only one experiencing this. The server disconnects the connection on Roku and it lasts a very short time. As soon as i use plex this evening and notice the issue i will grab the logs as indicated and create a new topic as requested. I am sure there are more users out there with the same issue.

Plex Server Logs - It just crashed on Roku Here is the log from PMS it crashed a few minutes ago on Roku

I was able to recreate the issue where Plex on Roku disconnects from PMS and i have provided logs from PMS and the ROKU log as requested.

Thank you. I look forward to find out what you have discovered and hopefully this helps in resolving the issues.

Not sure if this is a different issue, but I’m running Plex Media Server on Linux
Centos 8 Stream (fully patched) on a Hp Microserver Gen 8 nas box, with latest version Version 1.32.6.7557 and I suspect a memory leak.
I see the memory creeping up from 220Mb on Plex restart to 1.35Gb now, but earlier today before I restarted it was creeping up past 5gb of ram for plexmediaserver.

I’m seeing this issue on a Debian LXC container also. I upgraded to the latest beta to see if it resolves the issue.

Enable Plex Media Server memory usage logging - See LogMemoryUse setting on this support article Advanced, Hidden Server Settings | Plex Support

Capture logs when the memory usage appears to be excessive eg 5Gb or higher

An update on this issue… I disabled two of the audio processing options per a Reddit post and I cleaned up / deleted many older TV shows that I’ve already watched. Plex Media Server hasn’t crashed for the past two nights. Still on the same server version “Version 1.32.6.7557”.

The crashes that I investigated were all relating to Intro Detection when run as part of scheduled tasks - Disabling intro video markers detection in server library settings should avoid these crashes until the fix is released.

I suggest disabling only this setting (selecting never) and see if the crashes go away

Do let me know if you are getting crashes due to other scheduled tasks - providing debug server logs.

Thanks @sa2000 , will change that setting. Plex Media Server was still running this morning, so not sure if that setting is impacting my installation.

I updated to the beta Version 1.32.7.7571 to see if it would fix the issues. I grabbed a log 5 minutes after the restart with debug on. Hope This helps resolve this issue. can someone direct me to settings that can restart automatically when it stops. I would like it to record all my shows.

For users that had the intro video markers detection related crashes during scheduled tasks, a fix has been released in the new beta for 1.32.7 - in build 1.32.7.7261

  • (IntroDetection) Intro detection could crash the server under certain circumstances (#14606)

For Plex Pass users with the access to the betas, please re-enable Intro Video Markers detection, and update to the 1.32.7.7261 release

If for some reason, crashes continue, please ensure debug server logging is not disabled and post the server logs zip captured after one of these crashes

My issue has been resolved. Thank you.

I have updated to Version 1.32.7.7621 and re-enabled Intro Video Markers detection. Will monitor for the next couple of days to see if PMS is crashing. Thanks for the update.
