All of the modifications are great, but the problem is, they only effect the “admin” user on the browser being used (unless I have missed something) I only use the Plex web for administration, so it’s really not important to me how it looks because I’m only there for a couple of minutes at a time. But I share with people who use Plex web, and I just can’t see my grandkids or a few others taking the extra steps, even if they have commented that the “pictures don’t show up anymore”
Yep, unfortunately my script works at the browser level meaning anybody accessing your server using Plex Web has to follow the instructions if they want the old background art back.

I can’t believe how stupidly this is implemented. Turn on art and the clickable information disappears off the screen.
I am so tired of Plex pulling the rug out from under me because they just decide to change everything again and again and again.

I wish they would at least explain it.This was really big. I find it very hard to believe that someone looked at this and thought it was good. it pretty much renders this feature useless. its not called banner art…
Been trying to get the ‘blur/dim’ option implemented in the Now Playing (music) screen for Android TV (and all clients) for some time now…
I did notice that on some platforms/clients it is available… but others not. A little consistency would be nice when going from client to client on various OS. (especially on Nvidia Shield as it has the huevos to display images nicely (rather than a blur)).

I decided to write a script that alters artwork so it functions similarly to how it used to.Instructions and screenshots are available at the github repo:

Perfect solution @uzegonemad ! I edited the image opacity to get it just how I wanted. Stylish was a genius workaround to this problem. Thanks much!

Good initative! The new Plex design really needs some tweaking and fixing to get background art right.
This really does need to be fixed. As it is now, my collection simply looks much more drab. Why wasn’t this added as an option rather than replacing the old background art that worked perfectly fine? I spent so much time on that

Looks great, but just a little too dark. How did you edit the opacity?
Is it this line?
// @resource plexBgCss plexbgartwork.css?v=833f40
Hi @henchmanc,
The easiest way to edit the opacity would be to install it using Stylish. Then, you can modify the opacity on this line.
It goes from 0-1 so 0.08 means 8%. Trying something like 0.12 or 0.15 might work better for you.
Does Plex ignore our criticism? They could have changed this with a minor update in the last few months if they only wanted to. Makes me a little disappointed.
Hi, ive been a plex pass lifetime subscriber and this is the first time I log into the forums just to ask plex to please let us change the opacity of the background art… none of my backgrounds are clear and you cant even tell what the background is

Thanks so much for this. Plex developers please integrate this option into Plex Web.
Hi all, thanks for the kind words. I just updated the styles to work with Plex web 3.11.0 - you may need to update/reinstall.
