Gapless playback (for music) is in the latest Android beta. For those who are interested, more info about the beta is available here.
Hopefully it will appear in the Chrome web browser player soon…
Gapless is in 7.8.0 Android release! At long last! 
Is it in the web client too?
Unfortunately not. Consistency across platforms is not exactly a strong suit of Plex.

There’s still 12-15 seconds between tracks on the web (browser/chrome) player!

Gapless playback is not available in some of our clients. We are working on getting it to other platforms. Please make a new request for specific platforms if you need.
