The Metadata Agent of TheMovieDatabase has a setting for "Use collection info from The Movie Database". The Metadata Agent can automatically import TheMovieDatabase movie sets.

How are the movie sets then displayed in Plex?
You have to filter by collection. The problem is if a show does not have a collection, they don't get included. There is no option for "no collection".
I'm not sure if there will be much interest, but I wanted to post a script I use to programatically tag collections from a list export from icheckmovies.com.Premium users of ICM can export top lists and this script will parse that CSV file and create a collection and tag any films in your Plex library that appear in that list. For example, I can export the top 500 Essential Cult Movies list (https://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/500+essential+cult+movies/) and running the attached script I can create a collection called "500 Essential Cult Movies" and it will tag all the those movies that I own.It only works on linux at the moment, but I think I have the OSX database connection correct and commented out.Even if there is no appetite for ICM integration then some of the functionality might be helpful to those looking to integrate tagging from trakt or other services.================Usage: create_plex_icm_collection.py [options]Options:-f CSVFILENAME, --file=CSVFILENAME ICM top list CSV export [REQUIRED]-t "TAG TITLE", --tag="TAG TITLE" Name of collection tag [REQUIRED]-x, --execute Commit changes to database, else dry run-r, --report Print list of films to tag and missing films-u, --untag Remove "TAG TITLE" from all listed films, essentially an undo-h, --help Show this help message and exitExample:create_plex_icm_collection.py -f 500+essential+cult+movies.csv -t "500 Essential Cult Movies" -x -rThe above will tag all owned movies from the .csv file with the tag "500 Essential Cult Movies", commit changes to database and print a report

Want this too - would be a great feature
+1 for this suggestion. Collections would be a great addition in TV Shows and Home Movies as well!!!
+1 for me too....
Brian does a great job on his platform he creates... I use to use Brians for years, before i moved to plex. I love plex so much more, and i know its a whole different code, but its still good for what it does, but its not plex
+1 for me as well…
I like the idea. Often times the order of certain trilogies aren't very clear from title themselves.
For example. Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy starts with a movie titled Batman Begins and the second movie is titled Dark Knight and the last movie is titled Dark Knight Rises. Not only are these movies sorted wonky because of the first movie, it's hard to tell which comes first to anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet. Another example would be The Lord of the Rings. I can manually sort them by giving them sort title with numbers, but they will be sorted Fellowship, Return of the King and Two Towers if left alone due to alphabet ordering.
Plex could check for movie series and group them together and within that subgroup, order them by release date, not alphabet.
I just switched form XBMC\KODI, and if Plex could just do the same thing they do with collections I think everyone would be happy.
+1 Please add this much needed feature guys
We can't have XBMC outdoing Plex ... come on guys +1
+1 great addon

One way around this would be to put your James Bond or Halloween movies in their own folders within your Movie directory and then you can filter "By Folder" and this would allow you to group them.
Yeah, but when you switch to this view, you lose all the covers and it displays the only the folder icon with the text, regardless that there is a folder.jpg in each one of my folders.
I used Media Browser briefly to see if I liked it better than Plex, this is the only feature that I felt they had that Plex is missing. I feel fairly certain that at some point it will be added to Plex, I just wait patiently.
+1
This would be a great feature to see implemented to reduce clutter and enchance organization of one's collection.
+1 would love this feature, make browsing massive collections all that much easier.

Would be nice to have collections also read the sort title since some "collections" seems to be broken even with proper agent setup - Tron collection only lists Tron Legacy even though the original Tron is in the "Tron" folder. Same with my Resident Evil collection which only lists the first 2 movies when I have the entire series, in comparison to the Star Trek movies having 3 different "Collections" selections, which is OK i guess if you want to sort out your orginal ST movies versus the Next Gen movies ect.
