[Implemented] Multi User Mode

Oh god! This would be awesome!

It would be nice if every user can create his/her own myPlex login credentials and use the same

PMS. (this instead of having to share the library)

nevermind

I do hope all you people that are adding +1 are going back to page one and clicking like on the OP... otherwise your doing exactly nothing.

This, a thousand times this!

I would definitely like this to merged with a user login/content filter option.

Seeing the new filters on the beta client makes me wish I could filter content to a user account.  Having a G-rated account for kids. Even supervised viewing is a problem due to the FanArt randomizing images.  Scary or inappropriate material can still display when kids are present.

Sections are not useful.  I don't want to dice up my directories into G vs PG vs PG13 vs R and create MyPlex accounts and share sections.

Definitely integrated with Parental access/control this would give us (parents in general) peace of mind that the kids didnt accidently watch something they should not have access too.

+2 I'd not have to get too complicated.. but I must admit it'd be really nice to see who's at least watched what, maybe dirrerent ratings for different users, maybe deny list for some users like kids :) maybe groups for adults / kids / private.... :) default everybody mode + simple user change / authentification code... :) just talking... :)

I have to drop in to put in my two cents. Voting for this feature is what made me buy a plex pass.

This is most definitely the most important feature for me in my use of plex. I have a cranky family member who I'm trying to convince to give up XBMC and join my plex server (because I'm sick of supporting his rather crazy xbmc setup), but he won't budge without his own separate watched status etc. Like I said, cranky—even when he's getting all my support and work for free!

Of course, I'd love to have this in general as well.

PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

We need this! make sure you like the original post not just +1 the post with your own post.

This is not a “problem”, i.e. in my family every family member has his own PMS virtual machine, they all point to the same files but are independent from eachother. Kids therefore don’t see horror movies etc, all you need is a server capable of running multiple PMS which is like every server since 2005

Not when you're looking at transcoding multiple 1080p streams... I'm looking at an ESXi setup with what I would consider crazy processing power (the server I'm building is in the $1800 dollar range and that's with cheap drives) and I'm still somewhat concerned about it all. Also, apparently the database supports multi-user. It just needs to be enabled and made visible in Plex/MS and Plex/HT. Why introduce the overhead and complications of VMs if Plex/MS is capable of providing multi-user with only one instance?

While we can certainly respect that setup, would it not be fair to say that it brings it's own logistical issues (not least of which being the skills necessary to set up and maintain just the virtual servers).

I'd be interested in hearing your challenges and solutions since this is not a solution I considered already.
