[Implemented] - Multiple Cuts Of Movie

+1 This would be so helpful!

+1! I was just about to post this exact same suggestion

Being able to tag and pick the different cuts of movies would be extremely useful. It would simply add that extra layer of customization that movie fans like us need.

And, I hadn’t thought about the extra features! This would be a wonderful way of organizing and accessing all the extras when ripping a disc.

I <3 Plex, thank you again for such a brilliant product and for listening to the users

I would love this feature to be implemented.

After recently purchasing, ripping and plexing the Alien Quadrilogy on Blu-ray i added both the theatrical versions and the Directors or attached special editions of each movie in the series to the PMS. however when opting to watch them in Plex i am greeted with two difficult choices ā€˜1080P H264’ or the equally tantalising ā€˜1080P H264’. This is where the problem begins as i dont know which is which even though they are named as follows on my hard drive:

Aliens (1986) [Blu-ray] [1991 Special Edition]

Aliens (1986) [Blu-ray] [Theatrical Version]

It would be good if Plex could recognise the the text after the main title for the naming convention and add that as an option when selecting from different versions of the same movie, or at least something to distinguish between the two.

I’m out of positive votes again for the day, but yes, please implement this! I’ve taken to just deleting non-extended cut or director’s cut releases because I forget there are multiple versions if I keep them both and never end up watching the original.

This seems like a great feature.

Specially for normal, 3D, different language and different quality.

This layout seems a bit much:

This should be enough:

Maybe if there is 2 movies with different spoken languages, it also could be in the text.

I am huge fan of multiversion movie and THIS is a really a feature I’d love to see in Plex.

A quick win for me would simply to display the file name and the quality instead of the quality alone.

I don’t require a complex handling of versions but having more info than ā€œ720Pā€ would be so nice !

Would be great for things like Directors Cut, Uncensored Version, etc.

Just realized this would be great. Setup a new HD 3D movie section, put avatar 3d in it (Which looks great on my 64’ Samsung) however when I go down my other folders like HD Movies I can see the watched/unwatched and position has been copied across to that section… Very annoying!

I have DTS and Ac3 copies that I would like to not have duplicated. This would be a great feature. Preferably you shouldn’t have to put them in the same folder, just for plex to group the same movie title.

+1 for this as I’m a big fan of behind-the-scenes type stuff

+1 for related media and alternate cuts etc… this would be great!

maybe similar to this requestet feature is one of my wishlist/feature

Think about Films with two up to 7,8,9… series/episodes like James Bond, Terminator, Star Wars, Lord of Rings etc.

It would be nice to see this as compilations like TV Series … and not separated entries for each James Bond, Lord of Rings etc

Different request ... We discussed it here: http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/55082-xbmc-eden-movie-sets-support/

I'd like to see it too :) (especially for James Bond!)

It would be nice for the 3D movies to merge but somehow either auto detect SBS or a naming convention for the file
