I'd love to see this feature request implemented. Thank you Plex Developers! :)

Music and concert video support for music libraries has landed.
Vevo music videos might be added to latest PMS, but doesn’t seem to be available for all regions, for example sweden.
This thread was started because we wanted music videos, not music videos where we have to have an audio track for the artist also. Please implement it in a way where we don't have to have audio tracks also.
Music and concert video support for music libraries has landed.
From what I can tell this has ZERO affect on the requirement/request of this thread. Please change the TITLE of this thread from [IMPLEMENTED] since nothing in this thread has been implemented.
What was implemented from a "high level" view is the equivalent of a music trailer(s) for any artist we have in our music album. This does nothing for this request of meta-support for videos/concerts we already have as part of our collection. Just go to VEVO and search on one of your artists. Any of the videos listed (not interviews, etc) will get linked via Plex and become a "trailer" to your existing music album.
If we have a library setup as "movie/home video" for our own videos (manual corrected meta data) and do a search it will show up on the master search list since it's part of a library. If I do a search right now (with the newest music) the VEVO "trailers" don't show up at all. I'll get sections for MOVIES, TV SHOWS, EPISODES, ARTISTS, ALBUMS, TRACKS, CLIPS) but no VEVO TRAILERS (or whatever you want to call them).
Although probably not the biggest deal, my setup just got a bit more convoluted. I now have a dedicated music video library (shows up in search) plus have videos (Vevo) linked to artists in my Music library but don't have the ability to link my concerts (already on my system) to the artists. So now "videos" are in two places and show up in search from one place but not the other.
But I digress back to the topic of this thread. What is being asked for here hasn't been implemented.
Carlo
PS don't take any of this as a negative of any of the new music features (which are cool), just not what is asked for here.

I could be wrong here, but don't you need to first create one of the new "premium music" libraries? Instead of just using your old music library?
Seems a bit odd that Plex couldn't just use the libraries for Music we already had; we have to make a new one...
Yes you do. And you can link videos to tracks if you work at it. But that is not what the OP message is asking for.
Whew. I’m a new member, and just read through this entire thread. While I’m new to Plex, music video metadata is something I’ve spent a long time thinking about and working on. It would appear that one of the reasons this feature has not been implemented in the manner the original poster requested is due to the fact that there isn’t a reliable online database for music video information.
A few years back I started a website to address this issue - http://rockpeaks.com
We have a fairly comprehensive metadata schema and an API, and a while ago we built a scraper for XBMC.
We have somewhere around 125k videos indexed in the system. Our emphasis has been more on live performances than MTV-style concept videos, but both types (as well as interviews, docs etc…) are supported by the database.
The recent Plex announcement about improved music support caught my eye and that’s why I’m here. As a newbie I don’t know enough about the community or the technical/philosophical issues around integrating a new metadata source, but I certainly be willing to engage in a discussion about it.

This looks like a great solution as far as a database to be scraped. I haven't been able to check out everything as well as I'd like to as I never received an email for my password when I joined. Tried having it sent again and still nothing. Same user name as here, if you feel so inclined to look into that. And yes, I've checked junk mail, etc.
Of course, I'm much more interested in the info for regular music videos and there doesn't seem to be nearly as much info on your site about them, but I'm also interested in live performances.
Either way, the Plex team still needs to do something about the implementation of this, as what they think has been implemented, is not at all what we are asking for here in this thread. And hopefully someone on the team is reading this and realizes that.
If and when I'm able to actually log into the site, I'll check it out more thoroughly and I'm sure I'll have some more questions for you then.
Music and concert video support for music libraries has landed.
Please read what the thread is actually asking for before stating that this has been implemented.
Hi Kriebe, I’ll look into why the membership email didn’t get sent and get back to you.
I'm glad to see VEVO support (thank you so much), things are at least moving the right direction if not perfect for every scenario yet.
Bumping this up because it still has not been implemented, regardless of what the title now says. Music Videos needs to be a stand-alone section with no connection to the music library section.
And still nothing.
Improved music video and concert video support is still being discussed internally as part of our ongoing changes surrounding music.
