It’s insane that playback speed has been requested so long without even being acknowledged by the Plex team.
A friend needs to watch at half speed due to a medical condition. Even Netflix has that now.

is there not any statement or comment on that? even if it is in the works? I mean right now you can just do this with a chrome extension and lets be honest, thats not great.

Why has there been no reply from the Plex team??? This feature is extremely useful as most other platforms and streaming services have now incorporated it.

I think playback speed should be in desktop clients YESTERDAY. There’s no reason why it can’t be done.
Give us playback speed on desktop first.

What a shame to see such a popular program with a passionate userbase go ignored for so long. It speaks volumes that they won’t even respond to this. Seems like a very standard feature for any video software that would consider itself cutting edge. It speaks volumes that they’ve been ignoring this problem for so long.

Voted for this feature.
I use it in youtube all the time and I recently read that netflix added support. I use it on local media via VLC. This is pretty well a ubiquitous feature across media viewing.
I checked top rated feature requests and this is currently 7th unimplemented.
So ya… let’s do this

I want to watch my own server content at faster speeds like vlc +.1 increments (1.25 1.50 1.75 2.00 would be acceptable too).

I use Plex to organize my collection of lectures and technical videos for school. Not having 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x etc playback speed control makes Plex USELESS for this purpose. How has this not been implemented yet?
