This is a pretty common feature nowadays that’s in basically every video player. Insane that this was first requested 8 years ago.

I voted on this many years ago and I still want this. In 2022 this is a table stakes feature.
Adjusting the playback speed (decrease/increase) would be awesome indeed. And please also on all devices

I want this to. Moreover I think it’s a good competitive move for Plex to capture cord cutters used to being able to do this on DVRs.

Because of missing this feature I’m considering to cancel my Plex pass and migrate to Jellyfin or Emby.
I want to reiterate my desire for this feature, especially for mobile. YouTube, Netflix and Jellyfin all have playback speed options built in.
Why no respond for this function?
I’m in proccess of creating my own streaming server and I really would use this feature. I’m used to watch most of the movies at 1.2 speed. If the movie is boring, I watch it at 1.4. lol. I’m new here, so it’s pretty easy for me to use a different system if needed

Is there a reason from a technical point of view that this feature hasn’t been implemented yet?? Has anyone deduced why Plex employees don’t seem to answer these threads?
Like… It’s the playback speed of a video stream… Literally change the playback speed and shift the audio tone.
Maybe somebody could help me out here, but I can’t for the life of me think of a reason that this simple feature hasn’t been implemented after so many years of request from the userbase.
Plex don’t usually comment in suggestion threads unless to clarify a specific request.
They usually also don’t comment on timelines/ETA for specific features, e.g. if they’re considered.
No response usually means the suggestion hasn’t been rejected and might be implemented at some point (though I understand this can be frustrating at times – especially for suggestions with a huge amount of votes; like this one).
