I literally stopped using Plex because of this missing feature, but I’m still subscribed to this thread just because of the sheer lunacy of them not yet implementing it.

This is absurd; what’s with Plex continually choosing not to implement an incredibly useful but basic function that’s available in tonnes of other similar software?

Plex Devs don’t seem to care about their customers, as long as Plex are still making money.
I’ve moved to Jellyfin which has features like these.

This would be super useful… when’s it gonna be added? I mean it looks like it’s been on here for what, 8 years now? definitely useful for training videos, as well as wanting to do a quick watch through of shows…

I can’t seem to find this feature in Jellyfin. Not in the app for my TV at least. Can you point me (and maybe others) to it?
It’s there for me on my AndroidTV device. One of the options on the bottom left; there’s a Play button with a dotted circle around it.
Edit: Just realised people might misunderstand this - I’m referring to Jellyfin not Plex.

It’s a shame because Plex would actually be a great solution.

I have a chrome extension that allows me to speed up any html5 video. I had no problems with this extension until I tried to speed up Plex video. It gets very slow when I speed it up. I think the problem is that Plex sets a fixed bitrate and doesn’t change it when I speed up the video. Or the problem is somewhere deeper and not just in the fixed bitrate.
So, Plex dev team, please fix the issue. How long will the community be waiting for when you deign to add a feature that we have been waiting for so long?

The chrome extension doesn’t work well for me either. I found that firefox has an extension to speed up playback and works much better for me. Problem is when I try to stream it from a regular client application I can’t speed it up which is really what I want. Hopefully the dev’s can provide something, as this feature seems standard.

Everyone should stop using Plex and no one should buy Plex again, Plex should go out of business for being a horrible company that refuses to listen to customers.
Amazing this simple feature has not yet been added. This company has fallen and no one should pick them up. Emby has this feature, use them.
