Right now on the main page we have Now playing, On deck, and Recently added categories. If we browse (in the discovery/dashboard mode) for a specific library, we also see things like Recently aired, More in Genre/from Channel, Recently watched, etc.
I was thinking that it could be really nice if we could customize those sections - add custom categories to the main page, based on playlists, smart and ordinary. For example - Recommendations of movies / series pilots to a friend, or Next episodes in order for a specific franchise universe, Shows/movies in X language or from Y country, New 4k movies, etc. Anything that could be composed into a playlist, should be able to be displayed as a discovery category.
Playlists have lesser visibility in many players, and having their ordered content visible right there on the main page under the On deck could cover many usecases and really improve and personalize the discovery experience in a large library. Especially for users that don’t/can’t use playlists, so this definitely should be a shareable thing.
