This has been a thorn in my side as well for a very long time… I do have an iPod but it runs like total crap on it and I reverted back to just using itunes to manage my media on the iPod. I use my iPod and my Nexus 6P for different activities so I can’t wait for the day we can see syncing on the only mobile platform that matters to me… and most of my family / friends…
+1 for Sync playlist to android phone, my life needs to be complete!
+1 but I also pushed like
Been available on iOS for quite some time already… Andrioid needs this.
+1 I agree, android needs this as well!
Bring Sync v2.0 to Android!

Exactly. That feature alone could end my family plan for Google Music…
+1 would be helpful
+1 Can’t believe you can’t sync a music playlist. Plex really really isn’t setup for music, but the recent developments are appreciated.
Also, please let us rate our songs and have the rating be VISIBLE when we’re looking at albums and playlists. Not hidden behind an edit window where it is useless.

And then be able to make a Smart Playlist on those ratings! A simple 4 Star or 5 Star playlist that automatically grabs the newly starred songs is a must!

You can make a smart playlist based on ratings. Here’s how!

Wow thanks!!
It’s not a “Smart” playlist though, FYI. Cause if you change a star rating, it will not add into the Playlist. At least in my testing. For instance, you create the Playlist, go to a 2 star rating song, rate it 5 and it will not appear in the Playlist.
It might be my fault for splitting hairs on names, but that is not “smart” or “dynamic” or whatever Google Music, iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, Slacker, Groove, Sonos, etc does. Kinda means only one music platform out there doesn’t do that, and it’s Plex. ![]()
I hope I am wrong!

No, it’s definitely a smart/dynamic playlist if you create it correctly (as that link indicated). If you leave the playlist open in an app and you rate a track elsewhere, the current display won’t update. But if you went out and back in to the playlist, it would include (or remove) the track you rated.
When you create a smart playlist, it’s just saving a set of rules (“tracks with a rating of 4 stars” or “movies with a genre of ‘western’”, etc.). When you access the playlist, it just applies the rules to the library and displays the results. A regular/“dumb” playlist, on the other hand, is a simple static list of content. It’s basically “this playlist consists of items A, B, D, F, G, etc.”, so everything that belongs to the playlist is explicitly tracked and there’s nothing dynamic about it.
+1 more…
In addition to sync, backup. I have plex on one device right now but want to get the NVIDIA shield and transfer my playlists over… My biggest complaint about plex is they don’t make this easy if at all possible. My understanding is it’s just an *.xml file buried somewhere in the system files.
Sync with sync and share and sync and sync and sync, share sync, sync share… share, share, share, sync, with sync, more sync and extra sync.
Please
It’s really a missing feature for android! Why does iOS have it already?
Sync playlists: Number 1 priority please!

Cool - thanks for that! FYI While the filter view is open (eg. listing all tracks that are 3 / 4 / 5 star) you can select to Sync all visible files to a device. Then you can save it as a playlist so that you can access it easily later.
So - for certain cases (eg. rated files) you can sync them to your device. Still doesn’t work for other kinds of playlist though ![]()
syncing playlist is really needed on android devices. please add. :-<
