it just frustrates me more and more every day.

Not sure if they need to rewrite android app like they did with iOS app. If they did, then I wouldn’t mind waiting a bit (but not too long!) for a fairly stable app than a half baked app. But yeah… totally frustrating.
I doubt they’ll rewrite it, it has been kept up to date and updated to Material Design already. It’s also pretty feature full… It’s just really full of bugs, especially the sync part which gives me constant notifications but doesn’t sync, and the chromecast part which sometimes gives me 2-3 notifications if I watch/listen to a few different files in a row.

Different teams, different schedules. Or, same team, but you can’t do two major projects at once.
Plex has often stated that feature parity among the apps is the goal. If a feature appears in one, you can generally expect it in the others. But timelines are not discussed externally, so it’ll get there when it gets there.

only the sync option. this request also covers the sharing of playlists with other users which would need a change on the server

This is a desperately needed feature that I have been waiting for for years. I haven’t been able to use Plex as my primary music app because of this and I personally have no use for playlists without the ability to sync them.

Please let us share playlists and recommend contents to other users. (Some form of recommendation on the Plex Web app would be nice)

this feature is a must have or else I doubt I will find much use to use Plex as my go to music player
The upvote from me relates to sharing playlists (although syncing for offline music listening is a pretty big deal too).
I would use playlist sharing for creating movie playlists that my friends can enjoy for marathon viewing - eg. Star Wars in Machete Order, Marvel movies/TV shows in chronological order instead of release order.

+1, I think I have been waiting for this since I started with Plex (~3 years ago), it’s the only reason I’m not using Plex on Android for music yet.
