I myself don’t use the music section of my server nearly as much as the movie and tv show section. I can’t seem to get my kids/family to use it either as they prefer Spotify and/or Amazon/Google music. But with each step Plex takes the music section is getting better and better and becoming a more viable candidate. What I think we need is a dedicated music app for smartphones that are as easy to use as GM and Spotify.
The Vimeo videos were a really good start. Having group bios, concert info and some of the other premium music features is nice. This new Lyrics addition is also a nice touch. It’s some of these little additions they keep adding that start to make Plex a better candidate for a large music library. I personally like where they are going with this. BTW, lyrics support has been asked for by a large portion of the user base for quite a while.
Of course if you aren’t using the Music portions of Plex than anything they do with this section will seem like “wasted dev time”. That goes without saying. But Plex has been putting out good new clients, making some really smart moves on the Server side (with more coming it appears) and has been doing a really good job internally overall IMHO.

Man that was frustrating getting that email about lyrics… functionality should be a higher priority than frilly bells and whistles. Who knows, I might love the lyric feature once I can use it with my playlists!!
Sync playlists to Android devices please.
This was a deal breaker for me…thought you could sync select tracks /playlists…dont need a plex pass now

Adding another vote for this feature. I would love to be able to share playlists and was really surprised that it’s not currently possible. Seems like a huge oversight.

Are you kidding me? I just spent hours trying to sync a Plex Mix play list, and troubleshooting all sorts of things, because any reasonable person would assume that “of course you can do that, what’s the point of a music server without that basic level of functionality” before I found this thread.
I have two lifetime Plex passes, and I’m very annoyed about this. This isn’t a feature request, this is, “please immediately fix this lack of basic functionality”. This should be a bug fix, not a feature request. Jeez, guys. Stop working on interface stuff, and finish the basics.
I just purchased a month subscription to check if this feature was available. If it is not made available, I will not be using Plex at all. If it is, I will purchase a lifetime subscription. :-L
My year subscription is coming up… A simple post from a Plex employee giving me a tiny glimmer of hope would keep me here…
Things have been quiet for several days. My guess is something big is coming down the pike…like integration with one of the tablature sites, so that you can play along with the music your listening too…

Edit: okay, you can make a playlist from a Plex Mix now, but you still can’t sync it. Less great, but still a nice step forward.

How old is this thread now and its still not possible? Ive been trying to get my other half away from itunes and right now this is the ONLY thing stopping her from doing it. Great to have offline music in the car but Im having to specifically make up and edit albums for her with the tracks she wants in there.
Please Please PLEASE make this a feature peeps.
It’s an old issue. They got this working on iOS after a while. Now we’re hoping for something similar to happen in android.
Not sure if they need to rewrite android app like they did with iOS app. If they did, then I wouldn’t mind waiting a bit (but not too long!) for a fairly stable app than a half baked app. But yeah… totally frustrating.
No love for Android at Plex HQ isn’t really anything new, right? I came to check if there’s a ETA for this feature and was expecting the answer I found here… too bad.
But the worst thing sometimes is if things just get ignored. Or did I miss a comment somewhere, that’s a bit newer?
