[Implemented] Trailer Support

How long is it going to take to get trailer support. Please add this. I would love having trailers for my movies. Just grab them from youtube.

I would like this as well. Seems to be an important feature that is being ignored. A bit more useful than a shuffle feature that was just introduced. :(

I know, and I'm with you about local/online trailer support (for existing movies), I was just saying that the Apple Trailers channel does the trick to watch trailers of movies you don't have in library.

Right, but no one is going to go search for every trailer they want to watch when browsing their local movie collection. Needs to be a simple way to launch a trailer from the movie information area and get back to the movie or movie listings after watching it.

Like I already mentioned, Apple trailers for bowsing trailers you don't have and Online/Local trailer support for existing movies (like you mentioned; from movie detail screen)

:)

+1, just to get it on top of the list, since I would really, really, really love this feature!

I got exited when I noticed the following listed in the lastest PlexPass client update "A nice little addition that has been requested a lot. Let's see if you guys can find it" rushed around the client thinking it might have been trailer support but no such luck from what I can tell so far... (fingers are still crossed though)...

Just signed up for Plex Pass and switch over from XBMC. This is the only thing I miss that XBMC had.

I don't wish to hijack this thread at all, but I thought some of you may be interested. I wrote a Chrome and Firefox extension for Plex/Web on plex.tv that adds trailer support. It's not native support, but some of you may be like me and mostly use the web client.

Fantastic moussa.uk, thanks for sharing and creating this extension.

I unfortunately mainly only use the Windows app with remote control (and Android app at times) but I might pull the keyboard and mouse out and use this extension when possible... :-)

Out of interest are you able to perhaps look at helping Plex developers on getting some of your great ideas and features added into the main product perhaps? Trailer supprot does not 'sound' too hard to add (but I'm sure it must have it's challenges and as you seem to have done most of the work is it something Plex dev team could make use of perhaps?)

Plex should really do all that by default! (I mean not only for web client...)

Really nice. It combines several of my requests:

-Trailer (online only in this case)

-Separate ratings from the user ratings (RT)

***Didn't try it yet but it looks really great!

Built in support would be pretty cool. I'm sure the only thing holding them back is time or how best to implement it, but I wouldn't want to put words in their mouth.

Well, I also think that every time they implement a cool new feature (CC, Photo upload, etc...) they need to support it more actively for a while to resolve bugs or improve it. That must postpone new features for sure IMO.

Not a bad thing, just common sense.

Just hope as well that local/online trailer support is coming soon. Yes, I still have hope  ;)

I am using this extension and confirm it works great in Chrome and Firefox! It's a must have.

Come on plex stop ignoring people and at least give us a response. Momentarily I’m stopping my plex pass membership. Purely because I dislike the lack of support/refusal to answer peoples questions and I find it rude!

The only one I can make out in here that's rude is you. Maybe you should read the forums more thoroughly, then you would have found out that the Plex team has stated numerous times (in the recent past) that Trailer support is very high on their list of major new features to be inrtoduced in the future. Your threatening to cancel your PlexPass membership ist just laughable and chilidish. Go ahead, do it, no one will miss you.

I find this an appropriate course of action and wholly support it.

Anything that means I don't read more rude posts from unexplainably entitled users is OK in my book.

It’s been high on the list for years. I didn’t threaten to cancel for lack of implementation … I said I disliked the fact people keep asking questions and repeatedly get ignored!
