Usually, Plex doesn't do half of of a feature so if the team is already working on it, I have to presume it takes longer because they want to fully support this; support local and online trailers, agent that would fetch it, have their API ready for the clients to support it, etc...
Or... they haven't started to look into yet :unsure:

I find it extremely puzzling why a developer would not boast about developing features. I already know its their model and they will never comment on their road map. My question is why not?
Every major company boasts about developing features, it creates hype and get the community talking thus attracting more people. Sure sometimes "deadlines are missed" and people rage but you know what, people are raging all around this forum due to the lack of feature boasting so this is not really enough of a reason not to.
Now i'm not saying that if you have and idea and draw a rough draft of it on a napkin that you should start telling people about it but once an idea is set in motion and you have invested time into it its not like you're going to can that idea at that point so why not boasts about it? I'm not saying i want timelines and i'm sure people will ask for them if you do start giving information about up coming feature but you ignore all requests for developing feature why not boast a little and just ignore the questions about timeline and stuff, its not like you would be changing much.. It would also get you more involve in the forums and community which i can only see as a positive.

I can think of another notable company that doesn't boast about developing features, and it seems to work ok for them;
Apple.
Ah. We were we supposed to take the post seriously. It says "every major company" where "almost no company whatsoever" is the appropriate phrase. There it's obvious the whole thing is a rant without any grounds on reality.
Smart companies keep their cards close to their chest and try to announce things only when they're pretty much set in stone and, if possible, right when they're available or very close to being available. Notable exceptions come from some startups (who'd lie through their teeth if that's what it takes to get funding), really desperate companies or some notable open source projects where someone not doing the development is doing the announcements.

Maybe this has already been suggested, but I'm not reading 21 pages of posts :)
One thing I LOVE about going to the cinema, is seeing trailers for similar movies as the one I'm about to watch, right before the movie starts... I'd love to see the same thing done on Plex, with the ability to choose how many trailers to play.
I suggested this as a feature request on a previous media server I used to use a long time back (Media Browser). They implemented this by matching genres of the trailer, with the movie thats about to play, and gave you the option of how many trailers to play.
I would add to this request, by saying "Play 50% of the chosen number of trailers, not matching the genres of the chosen movie" so you get some variance in the trailers that are chosen (just like at the cinema).
Obviously this would be selectable, so you can tweak what the trailer playing options would be. I dont want to be putting on the latest Star Trek movie, and seeing a chick flick advert... ;)

Based on how long it's taking for simply support online/local trailers, this one will take a F** long time to be implemented lol....
Let's start by just supporting trailers, that should be a good start ;)

Best to think about the end goal, then break that down into achievable steps, right? :)
1) As a user I would like to have the option to view a trailer of the movie I am debatiing on watching
a ) select a movie in my Library
b ) see an option to view trailer for movie
c ) All other Movie options are still visible
2) As a user I would like the option to setup my plex to play other movie previews before my movie starts playing.
a ) Select option to watch Movie with Trailer support
b ) Select option to watch Movie with No Trailer support
c ) Select option to Continue watching from where the movie was stopped prior. e.g. 10:20

Does any one know if Plex home Theater support addons? If so would any one have the knowledge to convert or work with the code supplied by moussa.uk as per he's web addon and incorporate it into the main app if this is at all possible?
He has some fantastic features he's added such as IMDB and RT ratings, Trailer support, upcoming TV episode released dates, missing episodes..etc..etc.. list goes on but really fantastic ideas and he's very quick at adding these new features to the web console via he's addon.. I just wish Plex could incorporate them natively or someone with the ability could get an addon for the Home Theater application as well.

PHT is just one client and we would be stuck like the Chrome addon only having this in Plex/Web but for PHT (if even possible). I think a skin would have to be done (or modified), but this is out of my knowledge at this point so I can't really say.
This really needs to be done by Plex team; built in PMS IMO (the nice built-in Plex way).
I love how Plex design their features in their solution and I just know it would be better instead of a work around.

Yeah, I think the time has come to try to get this 'comfort' feature.
The Cinema Experience add-on for XBMC would be the perfect model to use.
Never heard of Cinema Experience add-on (for xbmc) before today but looked it up and yes i agree it pretty much sums up exactly what this forum is requesting. I wonder if porting an addon from xbmc to plex is a massive task? either via addon or native to plex i would love to see these features added.
