Quick question.. In the new HomeTheater - I figured out how to load the trailers (Go to Preference > Playback > last option Extras > Number of cinema trailers before Movies)
How do I play EXTRAS? Is there a way to view the available extras in Home Theater? They are there for plex web and easily clickable.
I can access the extras for a movie in PHT from the icon with the plus sign, right below the subtitle icon.
Thank you so much for this feature, but those who do not speak English can not view the trailers in their languages (there is no subtitle either). It's a shame ...
I just pushed an update to the agent that will correctly choose trailers based on section language when available. You'll need to make sure you have the latest agent (look for a new "red band trailers" preference as well) then refresh to pick up the localized trailers.
Trailers and extras are working well for me. Thanks guys!!
My only tweak for the future would be being able to disable trailers for a particular movie collection (in my case, I don't want trailers enabled for my kids' movies, but I do want it for the main movie collection). Also, having a default resolution for trailers.

Correct, we use the ones in the section language if they're available, if not, we use the one in the language provided. Unfortunately, especially for older or more obscure films, language support may be somewhat limited.
It would be better to choose to load trailers only in section language or in english too if not possible. I would like to play only german trailer before a movie.
But i have tested about 20 Movies and at one of them, the trailer was in German. I already checked the Red Band Checkbox in the Freebase Agent settings. Is there a way to improve this? I think for every of this movies there is a german trailer.
1: The cinema trailer option is pretty cool for that "Cinema feel" when watching movies. I just think it feels kind of out of place when starting a movie because the trailers start so abruptly. Others have suggested some sort of intros (although I am not familiar with "The Dancing Popcorn" I think I know what kind of thing it is) and I think this would be a great thing.
It would complete the cinematic feeling if there was a sort of "weaving into it" instead of just starting the trailers right away.
2: Also, I don't quite understand how the trailers are selected. I had "New and upcoming in theaters" selected and tried to watch a comedy. It showed 1 trailer of some weird drama (i had never heard of it and it looked very much like a budget-movie) and 2 documentaries.
The cinematic trailer feature - for me - should be more about giving a cinematic feel than discovering new movies that I may or may not like. I would like it to show the same trailers that are shown in the cinemas, which means big, mainstream titles that looks extremely good on a big screen and gets you into that cinematic mood.
Anyone having problems with stuttering? Trailers play nice for a while, then it starts to stutter. On a 25mbit line, so shouldnt be any limits on my end.
I LOVE the trailers feature, and sincerely appreciate both local and online trailer support. It found trailers for old movies and it's been fun to watch some of them!
I also really like that I can select how many to play before my feature (if any at all), and that I can choose to play trailers for movies in my library or upcoming releases. It certainly adds to the movie experience and I cannot say how wonderful this new feature is. BRAVO! * claps hands loudly *

+1 on this, we need the ability to choose which movie sections we want to have trailers enabled. Until this is implemented I will have to leave his feature off :-( Thanks, but no thanks...
The trailers based on your unwatched items are selected from the first two genres on the item you went to play. The cinema mode trailers are selected randomly from among the list you select. So it's possible both of those films are labeled as "comedy," or some other overlap that is not totally obvious.
First off, is there some place to select between "Cinema Mode Trailers" and "Unwatched Items?" I definitely wouldn't want trailers being selected based on the same genre tag. For example there are ENDLESS movies in the Drama category that have absolutely nothing to do with one another. I don't want to be watching the movie 21 and getting the trailer for The Sound of Music. Both have a Drama tag on them.
Does the new trailer feature exist on android plexpass app?

For now, you can play the trailer for movies from the detail screen (icon in the left menu bar in TV layout, or by hitting "menu" and choosing "Play Trailer" on the mobile layout). Full support for all kinds of extras will be there in the future.

You can select the source for Cinema Trailers in the server settings, under "Extras."
Very cool feature, but would really like it if it locked the MPAA rating, as mentioned a few times above. Movie rating & below would be fine...just something to make trailers for Riddick not come up during Winnie The Pooh :)
