Please read this post from Elan about how to vote for features instead of just posting "+1" if you want to actually help promote a feature.

I really would like a trailer feature +1+1+1 :)

+1 as well. Please make sure the feature is a part of the ios apps as well so folks can preview a movie to help decide which ome to play.

+1 (and liked the first post).

Not being able to watch a trailer to see what a movie is about (Me and my significant other belongs in the group of people who can’t always remember ALL of our movies) is a big annoyance to me.

So much that I have several times tried to setup xbmc with a centralized database just to get this feature. And I HATE most of xbmc and the way it works.

To me locally stored trailers should be the first priority for 3 reasons:

1: to me it seems very easy to implement. Just scan the movie folder for files named -trailer.

2: it ensures the best viewing experience with zero buffering and the best quality.

3: you will always have the trailer. Also for some of your older movies.

Streaming trailers could be used for backup in case you don’t have the trailer stored locally.

Personally though I would rather have the feature for playing just local trailers right now and notnhave to wait for a full-fledged streaming solution if that was possible.

I don’t get that people complains about space issues with locally stored trailers. A trailer is AT WORST 150-200mb in 1080p.

Blu-ray rips are easily 15-30GB. That means you get 100 trailers for the prize of 1 movie in the worst case. With the harddrive prices today, I really don’t se a problem with that.

How about combining the screensaver and trailers into one?

As soon as the screensaver starts (presumably screen saver is fixed first) either a random trailer or trailers from the same year as the movie you are currently watching starts. As soon as the user interrupts there is a prompt to play movie, skip to next trailer, queue it up or go back to original movie.

The last 4 people that "+1" this feature request actually didn't help at all by doing what you are supposed to do, which is to "like" the very first post of the thread.  If you want to help promote a feature request, please read the forum rules and follow the directions on how to help.

Forgot to check the rules, thanks !

Local/Online Trailer Support

A menu option in the contextual menu of a movie would be nice. I have trailers for almost all of my movies in their folders as title-trailer.mov. I know XBMC searches YouTube for a trailer if it can't find a local one but that seems like a bonus feature to me.

Edited to reflect both Local and Online trailer support.

It would be good if the Plexserver search in Youtube like the Text of Movie "Transformers" and then like the Country (German Trailer, American Trailer, Korean Trailer) .

I would love to see this, and I know that Elan has said that it will be implemented, I was thinking it would be great feature to be able to have an option to pre-roll trailers when you start a move and it would pull those trailers from the recently added, or unwatched filters of movies.
