Importing from third party app

Hello,

My issue involves how to import file information (metadata and artwork) from a third party application.

For several years (Before Plex) I was using a great movie library program (“All My Movies” by Bolide software). This program does a great job finding both foreign and adult titles that I cannot get in Plex. I would like to import the numerous files within this program into Plex. The program allows me to export my data in several formats (Mobile Device, PDF, Image, Excel, MS Excel (old), HTML, CHM, Plaintext, RTF, ODS, ODT).

Any help on importing this data is truly appreciated.

Unless you find a way to embed that metadata into the files, you won’t be able to transfer it into Plex. Plex has no import mechanism for metadata from other apps.

Foreign film should generally not be an issue given there’s plenty of them in the sources used by Plex (e.g. The Movie Database). As for adult titles, you might want to look into some of the 3rd party agents that deal with that kind of files/metadata) → #third-party
