Impossible to launch Plex Media Server on Synology

syno : 192.168.1.120
my computer : 192.168.1.172

  1. Disable the VPN if on
  2. Temporarily disable the firewall
  3. Now connect http://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/web

I just disable the firewall of my syno and connect to 192.168.1.120:32400/web => always the same

The VPN was off in my syno. I’m using “openVPN” in my linksys router.

what about if I delete my account in “account settings” ? or “leave home” in user settings?

Cooooool!!! Now it works!!!

I disabled too in => Network/DSM Settings => HTTP redirect and HTTP/2 for the https activation.

but after your instructions @trumpy81 it works!! and probably desactivate VPN @ChuckPA.

I’ve restored all my librairies now!

Thanks a lot for your help @ChuckPA and @trumpy81

If the same error, have you attempted the same resolution steps from above?

Also, you need to clarify which settings you do not have access to but it sounds as if the server does not recognize you as the owner.
Settings - Server and any Library settings being inaccessible is indicative of not being seen as the owner / account holder.

Hi Chuck

Having on going problems with PLEX & my Synology 214play. Last week I decided to uninstall Plex and delete USER & Plex files.

I downloaded the PlexMediaServer-1.13.5.5332-21ab172de-x86 from the Plex download page and reinstalled. It was running again and I started to load my music librarys again over the past two days.

Today I was unable to access PLEX on my Synology drive. I uninstalled the above spk file, rebooted and reinstalled same but I still can’t get access PLEX running on Synology.

I’m frustrated at the amount of time I have spent on this forum trying to find a solution…

I attach my logs and would really appreciate if you could forward a solution.

Kind Regards

It would help if the volume you have Plex installed on had some free space

Hi Chuck.

Thanks for your response. I have cleared out several old Plex Databases thatI had renamed and the Volume that Plex is installed is now 85% free.

Thank you for your prompt response. It was appreciated.
