Paw Patrol and a lot of animated shows have two episodes per a recording. So I have my files names, “Paw Patrol - S01E01-E02” and Plex creates 2 separate episodes in the menu. This is great because it identifies both shows but the problem is that if I want to watch episode 2, it really is just playing the same file from episode 1 over from the beginning. There is really no way for Plex to know how to queue to the start time of the 2nd episode.
So two ideas:
1- Is there a way for Plex to have a manual start time for multi-part episodes? So in the metadata for the subsequent episodes, there could be a start time tag? This is very tedious of course because it requires the user to manually enter the start time of the multi-parts. But by default, Plex could approximate by dividing the time by the number of episodes and mark them that way.
2- Instead of separating the 2 episodes, could Plex just stack them into 1 item and show all episode names and descriptions in the single item metadata? The air date is the same. So, it could be “Episode 1 title; Episode 2 title” in the menu and then the description has multi-parts also.
I’m just not a big fan of the way the current setup works with multi-parts.
