Include IMDb or TheMovieDB id for Plex TV Scanner

I’m trying to use the IMDb or TheMovieDB id in the directory structure since the files are not matched.

The root folder I added is Dokumentationen for documentations.

It is using
Scanner: Plex TV Scanner
Agent: Plex TV Scanner

Dokumentationen

I also tried placing all items in a subfolder

There is no Plex IMDB option to match tv shows so you’re going to have to change that IMDB show id to TVDB or TMDB

Click the 3 dots next to library you want to change in the sidebar – click advanced and change it to TMDB or…

Click the little pencil on the show poster to just change an individual show – click advanced and pick TMDB (Aired)

I’m not sure what the default is so it may already be set to the TMDB

It is a good practice to put the show name along with the “s01e01”

Based on the little information available on that item, it seems to be listed as a movie on IDMb – while not being listed on TMDb and TVDb at all. You might try adding it as a stacked file to a movie type library… though there’s a chance Plex won’t recognize it at all because it’s missing on TMDb.

Yeah, it doesn’t show up on either. Someone else just went through this with another title and it didn’t show up because it was just released

Sometimes it takes a week or so to show up on TVDB or TMDB and another couple days before it shows up as a match on Plex.

You have a TMDB id in one of your examples so I thought you found it

You can either wait, match everything manually or join those 4 episodes and put it in the movie library.

Well… it’s a community driven database… so the OP is always free to add the film by themselves. That being said, the platforms are getting more serious about what type you’re adding things; so creating a series entry if it’s considered a movie, will get that entry deleted pretty fast

Those files can be quite helpful.
It won’t work to push a movie into a series library though :wink:

So since it is listed as Movie on IMDB, it is required to be added to Plex ins Movie section instead.
There is no chance to search for items in Movies and TV Shows?

Also it looks like it is not listed on TMDB anymore, I indeed found it and added the ID to the folder.

But since it could also have its reason of being to new, I’ll just wait some days and try all the recommeded approaches.

As you can see, these are listed since years but plex is not showing them either.

Get rid of the imdb tag for s24e13.

TVDB and TMDB have s30e01 The Monkey-Eating Eagle of the Orinoco
and s35e03 Galapagos: Islands of Change

You have your titles named matching IMDB

Thanks, that solved this issue. Now I only need to wait for the first issue to be solved by itself.
