"Include In Dashboard" for Shared users

Hello, I have multiple Libraries on my server and I share these Libraries with several Plex users:

  • TV Shows
  • Movies
  • Kids Movies

Here at home, I have recently edited the options on the “Kids Movies” library. I have specifically unchecked “Include in Dashboard” so that I do not see any reference to the watch status, on deck status for that Library.

But it appears that even the Plex users who have access to my library also inherit that option as “Kids Movies” is also removed from their Dashboards. Is there anyway to not have this happen.?

It would be great if I select such an option on the Library (remove the checkmark from 'Include in Dashboard") to only applied to my profile and not the profiles of others who access my server.

Does that make sense? Is it possible?

This setting is global for each library and thus, affects all users who have access to the library.

Otherwise, you not only had to decide whether to share the library to each user individually, but also whether to include it into the Dashboard for every single user separately.
That’s a lot of checkboxes…

Thanks for your quick response.

I figure it would be better for this option could move from not being global, but instead have the specific Shared user themselves personally select for each of the libraries they have access too, to enable “Include in Dashboard” (which can be enabled by default). Instead of the Host admin user having to decide for all Shared users.

Or at the very least, the host user could have the option within the “Sharing” Menu of a specific user to include an option when selecting which libraries they have access too, to there have the option for “Include in Dashboard”.

I guess my point is that, this specific option “Include in Dashboard” seems more to be a “specific personal user preference option” than an option that should be global for all users, in my personal opinion. Perhaps there are technical limitations that would make this a bit difficult to implement, but if the technical limitations could be overcome, I’d recommend that be changed accordingly.

In any event, thanks for your response, Please see this as a personal recommendation from a Life Time Plex Pass user.
