When I start a movie I have 15 seconds of spinning at least before it starts playing, doesn’t matter the player. The same thing happens even when I try to load XML about a movie. . While diagnosing I found that if I disable the request for including related information it loads right away.
Similar holds true in the web interface or iOS when you select a movie. You get basic details right away but a lag before the related information appears.
It makes sense from a data perspective but why does that happen when you try to play a movie? I’ve loaded the same movies in another Plex instance and don’t have that delay so it’s something in my metadata or relationships.
I’ve been deleting labels from old PMM collections but that doesn’t seem to help.
What’s statistics from the tagging items, number tag, number of movies and number of metadata items would be useful diagnostics?
I’ve done multiple optimize from with plex and chuck’s reload and re-index process as well.
I see this as well but it goes a step further for me. Some items fail to load completely and it causes Plex to go unresponsive until it gets restarted.
I’m not sure if it’s completely related, but here’s the other topic where a few of us are seeing the same thing.

Thanks so much Quick010
Joining a thread which homes in on the xml portion helps me so much. Symptoms match to a T with the includerelated=o as a ‘fix.’
