Incomplete castlist

Game of Thrones shows a very incomplete cast list. I’m using your new matching agent for TV shows.

For instance Richard Madden does not show in the list for Game of Thrones.
He also does not appear in the list for Medici, unless I downgrade to TVDB matching agent.

When I go on TMDB or TVDB both have the full cast list.
Can you advise?

Couple of quick things …

  • Ensure your TV library is using the modern Plex TV Series for its agent and scanner. The other options are from the old legacy code and is no longer getting updates and will be sunset (id say soon).
  • The Plex TV Series scanner/agent uses a consolidated metadata from multiple online sources (TMDB, TVDB etc…) so you no longer get one or the other, its what plex decides is best when it consolidates them in their back-end based on what is available and some other logic they decide.
  • NEVER and I really mean never change your agent/scanner from the one listed above. This code is not backward compatible and can (most likely will) cause your library to break and and lose functionality.

So for your issue, I’d start but making sure point one is true for your library, ensure you have Plex TV Series. Then force refresh the show or even better the entire library to ensure its not the correct and most up to date metadata.

There is currently a limit of 200 in place for the cast list.
Possibly, GoT is going above that.

Very good point but not for Richard Madden. He’s in the top 200 of the cast members and will be found (at least is on my server for GOT).

You’re right. I’ve just refreshed metadata on my server and he stayed in the cast list.
