I’ve doing some testing around this issue and it seems to be something introduced with a version of the Windows desktop player. I’m not sure if I have access to every single version of the app, but v1.71.1-3888 does not have the issue while v1.73.1-3905 and forward does.
Here I will outline what happens step-by-step:
Starting conditions and info:
- Plex Windows desktop player v1.87.2.87-87488d5a (current latest), also occurs in the browser, which makes sense here of course
- Exactly four items in my Continue Watching section
Steps to reproduce:
- Start playing new item
- Seek ahead a bit to ensure item will be put in Continue Watching section
- Stop playback
Expected result:
- Item will be placed at the beginning of the Continue Watching section without removing any of the previously existing items in the section
Actual result:
- Item is placed at the beginning of the Continue Watching section and the fourth/far right previously existing item is removed from the section
Other observations:
- Closing and restarting the application shows all items correctly, including the item that was removed in previous steps
- Starting number of items in the Continue Watching section does not matter but will be maintained. For example, if you start with three items, no more than three will ever be able to be displayed
This issue does not occur on the following applications (everything I personally have access to):
- Android
- Roku
- Windows HTPC app
