Inherit Show-Level Trailers and Extras for TV Seasons

Feature Request: Inherit Show-Level Summary, Trailers, and Extras for TV Seasons

Description: Currently, items in the Recently Added section for TV often link to an individual episode or season. While there is increasing support for trailers and extras at the Season and Episode level, most shows only have a show summary, trailers, and extras at the Show level. This results in viewers being left in the dark if they click on a Recently Added entry hoping to learn more about the show.

Issue: Navigating from a Season view to the top-level Show view to access the show summary, trailers, and extras is not intuitive for all users, and the necessity of this navigation is not clear.

Proposed Solution: If a TV Season does not have its own summary, trailers, and extras, the system should automatically display the summary, trailers, and extras from the Show level. This ensures that users always have access to the essential information and additional content, improving the overall user experience.

Benefits:

  • Enhances user experience by reducing unnecessary navigation.
  • Ensures users are aware of all available summaries, trailers, and extras for a show.
  • Streamlines content discovery, making it more intuitive and user-friendly.

Steps to Implement:

  1. Check for the presence of a summary, trailers, and extras at the Season level.
  2. If none are found, automatically inherit and display the summary, trailers, and extras from the Show level.
  3. Ensure this logic applies to all relevant views, including the Recently Added section.
