Inputting Parental PIN

Hi, is it possible to rethink the way that the PIN is inputted on the Apple TV? Each time I want to go into my Plex account, I have to ask my kids to either hide their eyes or leave the room so they can’t see the PIN number I’m putting in… I don’t have any suggestions as the Apple TV 4 remote is rather limited… Thanks, love your product!!!

I’m facing the same issue. Not on ATV but entering PIN is still challenging. I like Microsoft solution on XBOX, where each number is assigned to controller key. I know Apple TV remote has limited number of keys but maybe PIN could be replaced with swipe patterns. You could just right, right, left, up and you logged in. I wonder if using touch id/face id on your phone to authenticate would be possible.

This is an old issue, same with Roku for ages. One potential workaround for roku is to use the roku keyboard in the roku app. Does AppleTV have such a thing? I don’t own one, so I have no idea.

I’ll see if I can connect my apple bluetooth keyboard to the device and try that route. Good thinking…

While that might be a work around, it sure would be nice not to have to do that. But again, I get that the ATV remote is rather limited.

Yeah, swiping could potentially work! I like it…

I think the best implementation of pin input is on the fire tv (not the plex app however), where the direction pad corresponds to different numbers, it would make sense to implement this on all plex apps, as all platforms have a direction pad.

I tried this with the AppleTV remote App. Although there is a keyboard n the app that does get triggered sometimes, it didn’t get triggered for me when I entered my Pin.

This would be really nice to fix on Apple TV.
