Hey Everyone I am having an issue where the plex db gets corrupted when I try to add a TV show library. I have been using plex for years and recently started having this problem where plex would not pick up new shows. I took the opportunity to rebuild my setup and now I cant get plex to add a tv library at all. My naive assessment is that the cause is something metadata related. I have tried using different scanning agents.

It does look like it is getting imported. I can see shows without metadata on the home page but the library throws an error. Let me know if you have any ideas on what is causing this.

Plex needs to be on local storage. If it is then you have a bad drive.

@pl_5309 by local storage I assume you mean binded mount. I have the config mount on my new local SSD. The media storage is on an external HDD that is pretty old . Maybe Ill try and use the local SSD and see if that works. Do you have any reasoning for you suggestion or just experience?

For SQLite to get that messed up there is a storage problem.

If you started with a fresh install and a new clean database then something is off in the OS or device. If you brought these DB’s (com.plexapp.plugins.library.db & com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db) from another system then they already have corruption. You could try to repair them or grab a older backup.

The DBRepair Utility may be able to repair the db: GitHub - ChuckPa/PlexDBRepair: Database repair utility for Plex Media Server databases

This was a brand new install fresh everything. It’s consistently reproducible. However, I did forget to mention that for my movies library, it works totally fine no problem whatsoever.
