Hello, everyone!
I suggest adding the ability to use instant pause by pressing the “OK” button on the remote control so that the control interface and statistics for developers do not appear on the screen.
Many Android TV devices (such as onn and Google TV Streamer) do not have a play/pause button on their remote controls (I know that any other button can be reassigned to this action), so you have to press at least two buttons to instantly stop viewing.
Why this feature is useful and should be added:
Case 1:
Like many people, I improve my foreign language skills by watching movies and TV shows in their original language. I use subtitles when watching, but if the character on the screen speaks quickly and there is a lot of text, I don’t always have time to read all of it. Sometimes I only manage to press pause when the text has already changed, and the interface appears on the screen, making the text difficult to read. I then have to rewind and find the right moment, and then wait a few seconds for the interface to disappear. This slows down viewing and complicates the perception of the material.
Case 2:
Sometimes when watching foreign films or shows, they show a note that the main character is holding in their hands or newspaper headlines that are easy for a native speaker to read but take longer for a foreigner.
How I see this feature being implemented:
When viewing content and pressing the OK button, the image freezes instantly, but the playback control interface does not appear. When the OK button is pressed again, playback continues.
I hope that other community members will find this feature useful and vote for it, and that it will not be difficult for developers to implement.
