Intro Detection (Multiple intros over a season)

After searching for similar issues, I saw posts referring to multiple “intros” per episode. In my case, however, I have two shows change the official minute long intro during the season. The first isn’t much of a problem since the new intro makes its debut in the season finale. That intro isn’t detected. The next season will have that same new intro and intro detection works until the last episode when a new intro is done.

The second show has a ton of episodes in season and somewhere along the way, a new intro was debuted and now I don’t have intro detection over the last few episodes. When I tried to move them into a different folder it still wouldn’t and when I renamed the folder to season 2 I lost the metadata which is more important to me. Is there a way to force the server to rescan only a certain set of episodes so that if I know the last 15 have a new intro it can scan just those ones?

You can scan specific episodes by hitting analyze on each one. There is also the multi-select option. I’m not sure, but I think that will also work.

You can also just scan the entire season. Plex will identify different intros, as long as it can detect the same intro song in multiple episodes.

I returned just to say that this is the solution. I tried it on a couple of episodes and the intros were detected so I’m doing it for the remainder of the episodes now.
