iOS App Download Section Feels Like a Downgrade

Since the recent update to the Plex app on iOS and iPadOS, the Downloaded section has taken a big step backward compared to the legacy app.

Previously, downloads were well-organized:

  • TV shows were grouped by series, and episodes were sorted properly.

  • The Smart Download feature let me automatically grab the next 1/5/10 episodes.

  • Watched episodes were auto-deleted, keeping storage clean without manual effort.

Now, everything is just a flat list of episodes and movies with no clear organization. If I want to download the next 10 episodes of a season, I can’t. My only options are to download the entire season or just the unwatched episodes. For example, if I have 2 episodes left in Season 2, I’d have to manually download Season 3 separately.

This change makes managing offline content much harder and less efficient. Please consider bringing back the previous functionality - it was a huge quality-of-life feature for those of us who rely on downloads.

Downloaded files also have chapters removed. If you view the same file from your server you get chapters. Try it from Downloads and there are no longer Chapters. Would be great to simply have a legacy option toggle, or they revert it. It is really a downgrade.
