iOS app error: Media Server has no base URI – playback fails after 1 minute”

I’ve started experiencing a major issue with the Plex iOS app (iPhone). Playback starts normally, but after about 1 minute it fails and I receive the following error:

The same content plays fine on my Apple TV and via web browser, so the issue appears isolated to the iOS app.

I’ve never had this problem before, and nothing has changed in my server setup. The server is local and reachable. iOS and Plex app are both up-to-date.

Is this a known bug in the latest version of the app? Any fix or workaround available?

It’s been a bug since 2025.15.0 or 2025.16.0 if I recall. They know about it but won’t lift a finger to fix it. The problem happens (at least for me) when switching/dropping networks.

I think I had this today.

I’ve had app crashes and playback issues for around a week which matches up with me upgrading to 2025.22.0 (1195)

I’ve had this for months and am still experiencing it on 2025.22.0.
