For the past couple of weeks now, Plex randomly restarts the episode that I’m watching and then I have to scrub to find where I was.
Is this a known bug? Are there any fixes for it?

There have been some recent updates to the iOS app.
Are you on the latest version?
this seems to be related to a network glitch.
Like if you switch from Wi-Fi to 4/5g etc.
I have the same issue. It is not a network problem.
Our Apple devices have auto update on, so I had to update my plex server (qnap) to the latest version. This was done within the last week.
All my iOS devices have the same issue. They’re all running on home wifi. Over this time period, there has been no changes to qnap server version (just plex server), no changes to iOS versions (just plex app version), no changes to wifi or networking.
Before I updated to the latest plex server version this issue didn’t occur.
The symptom is that mid play, the plex client app will reset to the beginning of the video. This has happened for multiple videos that have previously been watched (before the recent upgrade) without the same issue occurring.
If you want to rollback to an earlier version of PMS there is an archive on github with past Plex Media Server download URLs The links are the same as what was posted previously on the Plex download site.
I am currently running 1.42.1.10060
will the rollback fix the restart issue?
What I can say is that I’m running 1.42.1.10060 on Ubuntu 24.04.03 LTS and Plex app ver 2025.27.0 for iOS on iPhone16 and I do not have a random reset to the beginning of a video. I have had a couple of instances where I’m in a particular location in our house and there is a glitch in the wifi connection and it does reset to the beginning.
see I’ve had these resets only when moving from either one AP to another, or just moving from wifi to 5g/LTE
