IOS plays a DSD file with a hissing sound

As my title says, this is what happens when I play DSD on a iOS device. Not on Sonos

There isn’t a known issue playing DSD files on iOS that I’m aware of. When you say “with a hissing sound” is the hissing all you hear, or is the music there with hissing in the background?

It’s a hiss in the background.

did this issue start after upgrading to the latest version (4.11.0) ?
or did the issue also exist in prior versions ?

the latest version includes this change that affects DSD playback …

DSD playback level is now quieter, which probably requires that you turn up the volume … and you might now be hearing low-level system noise/hiss in the background ?

This problem existed before the upgrade. If I play the same file with other players, I won’t have this problem. For example, roon foobar2000, I use Plexamp to play it.

thanks for clarifying … i’ve not heard background hissing noise during dsd playback … Plexamp logs and some additional details about your playback setup/hardware might help with further troubleshooting
