ipv6 remote access?

My new ISP is in the “Double NAT” scenario, but they issue out public IPv6 IP addresses like crazy. So I decided to move away from my VPN tunnel with port forwarding and try to get this working with ipv6.

I have enabled ipv6 on my server and allowed 32400 through my firewall. I tested from another network (4g and work) and I was able to access https://[ipv6_address]:32400 with no problems after enable “IPv6 support” in the general server (Advanced) settings.

SO everything appears to be working, but when I log into plex.tv remotely and check the settings, remote access is still trying to use the ipv4 address. Can plex not handle remote access over ipv6? When I load plex.tv remotely, I can still stream, but it is quite slow and streams at a much lower quality (Not quite sure how plex manages to stream data at all without remote access).

If it is not possible, I will push my traffic back through my VPN tunnel if i have to, I was just hoping that I could have plex able to run at my full bandwidth if possible.

Thanks!

IPv6 remote access is unfortunately not possible, yet.

When is it? The problem gets only bigger…

The developers (just like almost all other developers) don’t give out ETA’s. We will get it when it is ready. However, you can vote on the feature to let them know it’s important to you and other users. You can vote for it by clicking on the Vote button at the top of the page here: Ipv6 support for myplex
